It was the gathering of who is who in Rivers State and beyond as the king of Iriebe kingdom, Eze (Dr) Jeremiah Worenwu (JP), Eze Oha Ebe VI, Nyenweli/ Paramount ruler of Iriebe kingdom in Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State rolled out the drums to thank and appreciate God for successful seven years anniversary on the throne of his ancestors.
The Iriebe Paramount ruler, who is equally a Philanthropist hosted people from all walks of life, and gave special attention to orphans, widows and the downtrodden, making sure that they where taken good care of as starter packs were given to them.
Speaking to Journalists shortly after the event, the royal father said he was very grateful to God for the successes recorded on the throne in the last seven years, adding that kingship is ordained by God and not by struggle and for that reason he has righted some wrongs in the community and that his people are now leaving in peace without any security threat.
When asked why he chose to celebrate a lavish seventh anniversary, he responded thus: “In the history of Iriebe kingdom, no Paramount ruler has exceeded seven years on the throne of this kingdom apart from my late father. So, I’m thanking and appreciating God for keeping me in good health in this last seven years.”
He averred that when you thank God for what he has done he will do more, stressing that, that is why he is thanking God so that God will bless him with longevity on the throne.
Speaking further, the Nyenweli said that it’s a good omen that his anniversary celebration coincides with Rivers State celebrating 58 years of its creation. He therefore wished the state well and prayed for the end of the emergency rule and the reinstatement of the suspended Governor of the state, Siminialayi Joseph Fubara .
