Commissioner of Police Akin Victor Fakorede, a trained legal practitioner and seasoned forensic criminal investigator in the Nigeria Police Force has been redeployed from Head of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja for higher duties and responsibilities.
Although, his new posting is yet to be made public, inside Police sources hinted that his new posting would be to a higher responsibilities in preparation for his promotion to the next rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
The redeployment was reportedly approved by the current Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
CP Fakorede assumed leadership of the Monitoring Unit in December 2024, following his appointment by the former IGP, Kayode Egbetokun. During his tenure, he was known for sticking to professional policing, accountability and evidence-based investigations across the Force.
