The chairman of Meyetti Allah in Rivers State,
Alhaji Mohammed Tukur Abubakar, who is also chairman of Alhaji Tukur Mohammed Abubakar mosque hosted Muslims and non Muslims to a sumptuous Salah meal.
Alhaji Tukur said he understands that things are quite difficult in the country right now, that’s why he decided that his people should come and share with him in this period to end the Ramadan fast.
Alhaji Mohammed, who also doubles as the chairman of Fulanis in Eleme junction, a suburb of Port Harcourt, the state capital pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to work with elders and stakeholders in Rivers State to bring lasting solution to the political tangling between the suspended Governor Amaopu Senibo Siminialayi Joseph Fubara and the former governor and current FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
He said that the Muslim community in Rivers State didn’t have joyful Salah celebration because the state seems like it’s in a mourning mood. On the food he shared to his people, he said giving is in the heart, it isn’t about how much you have but the mind and courage to be your brother’s keeper. That he didn’t do it because he had it in abundance but because of empathy and love for humanity.
Alhaji Tukur Mohammed Abubakar called on other well meaning Nigerians to extend their hands of fellowship to the less privilege amongst them. He promised to set up a foundation that will cater for the needy.
In appreciation, the Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Agodi Lawal Umar thanked and prayed for Alhaji Tukur Mohammed Abubakar that Allah should replenish him and give him the desires of his heart as he welcomes the new sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas to Rivers State and tasks him not to be bias.
