ABOLGA Chairman Visits Emoh Community, Attends Inaugural Lecture

The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area (ABOLGA), Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori paid a visit to Emoh Community in Okpeden clan where he was warmly received by Chief of the community, Chief Thankyou Igenewari JP, the PDP Party Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Chief Hon. Oye Igenewari, and other respected stakeholders of the community.

During the visit, the Chairman inspected the ongoing work at the community town hall and expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far. He commended the people of Emoh for their dedication and unity towards community development.

He also assured the community of his continuous support, promising to equip the town hall with necessary facilities to ensure it serves its full purpose. He further stated that Emoh Community is a vital part of his administration, and his government will continue to carry everyone along in its development agenda.

The visit was filled with warmth, excitement, and a renewed sense of partnership between the local government and the people of Emoh.

In another development, Chief Oye Fubara Igenewari, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the LGA joined the Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori; the Member representing Abua/Odual Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. John Dominic Iderima; Mrs. Ukel Akeodi Oyaghiri (Esq.); the Leader of the Legislative Assembly, Hon. Emoghikitol Onyenagwam; all Councillors; and other political leaders of the Local Government Area and members of the professional community to attend the 120th Inaugural Lecture held on Wednesday October 8, 2025 at the Rivers State University.

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Scott Bernard Akpila on the topic: “The Silent Cry of Mother Earth: A Wake-Up Call to Geotechnical Engineering Practice in Infrastructure Development.”

The event highlighted the importance of sustainable engineering practices and drew attention to the critical role of professionals in advancing safe and lasting infrastructure within our society.
