The Faculty of Humanities, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt in Rivers state has unveiled a book titled, “THE SANDS OF TIME” in honour of Prof. Kingdom Eke Orji for his outstanding scholarship and leadership excellence.
The book, authored by the Professor with other contributors, is a compendium of the remarkable academic contributions and exemplary leadership style of Prof. Orji.
The unveiling ceremony, which took place on Thursday, 25th September, 2026, at the Post Graduate School Hall, attracted dignitaries from government, academia, religious groups and captains of industry.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peter Wagor, represented by Mrs. Matilda Wilcox commended Prof. Orji, former Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, for his commitment to educational advancement and development of Humanities.
According to Wilcox, the ceremony was not only the unveiling of a book but a celebration of a man who distinguished himself in the service of humanity. She applauded the Faculty for honouring Prof. Orji.
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor of IAUE, Prof. Okechukwu Onuchuku, represented by the Dean of Post Graduate School, Prof. Chibuzor Nwobueze, maintained that the leadership and academic contributions of Prof. Kingdom Orji cannot be ignored.
He said his outstanding commitment to service shows he is a man of transparency, adding that “The Sands of Time” remains a good legacy of Prof. Orji’s contributions to the development of Humanities.
Similarly, the current Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Ibiere Ken-Maduako, applauded the immediate past Dean for his great contributions to the University, stressing that the honour is a reward for dedication and genuine service.
In his response, the celebrant, Prof. Kingdom E. Orji, expressed appreciation to the University and the Faculty for honouring him.
He said, “The reason is simple, because I want people to grow without any sentiment. The book is to encourage people to know the dignity in human labor.”
