The initiators of the Minadiki Scholarship Programme have been commended for their desire to give back to society.

They have also been lauded for making the sacrifice to fund the education of young people to  help achieve their aim to be educated.

The Administrator of Okrika Local Government Area,  Engr Tamunobipiboye Thompson Isodiki, KSC made the remark when  KD SQUARES, a Technology Firm made up of young men and women of  Okrika extraction, the initiators of the Minadiki Scholarship Programme in its maiden edition of cheques presentation to deserving students of Okrika origin in his office.

Engr Isodiki said, “it is indeed my pleasure to host this event, and I must sincerely say I am impressed.”

He declared, “for the few weeks I have been in office, it has been demands and demands, but here are young men and women who have come to the Council not to make demands, but to give back and I must say KD SQUARES, I am proud of you”.

Sir Isodiki then advised the recipients to think on  how they too can give back, “considering the people giving out these scholarships are young people like you”

The administrator said, “The givers  are not selfish, saying it is one thing to collect and another thing to put into use that which has been given to you for what it is intended.”

“Do not waste this privilege, because it is given out of the sweat of young men and women like you,” he added.

Engr Isodiki, who was so pleased with the gesture of the young people behind the scholarship awards, while presenting cheques to the recipients, pledged a yearly donation of #200,000.00 to the scholarship programme.

Earlier in his speech, the Chief Operating Officer of the KD SQUARES, Mr Denzel Iyene thanked the administrator for the privilege to present the cheques to the beneficiaries in his office.

Mr Iyene explained that the Minadiki Scholarship Programme is named after their grandmother, and the initiative was born out of the desire to give back and invest in the same soil that raised them.

He thanked their Patron and the Bishop of the Diocese of Okrika, the Right Reverend Enoch Atuboyedia, JP Ph.D for his support and providing space to conduct the qualifying examinations and advised the recipients to use the scholarship and be light to others.

The recipients are Mr Tamuno-opubo Prince Opubo,  Davids Samuel ThankGod, and Victor Orinawengibo. Others are Miss Gloria Idalafari Tamunotonye , Miss Emmanuella Tamunoirinomie, Mr Excellent Oluwole and Max -Karibo Miebaka.
