Members of the University of Abuja Law Alumni converged in Port Harcourt for its Reunion Dinner and Awards Night, leveraging the presence of lawyers in the city for the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Annual General Conference.
The event, which held on Tuesday August 25, 2026 brought together alumni of the Faculty of Law, University of Abuja from different call years and provided a platform for networking, reminiscence and celebration of professional milestones achieved by members since graduation.
Speaking with Journalists, the President of the University of Abuja Law Alumni, Oluwaseun Adeojo said the NBA Conference created a unique opportunity for members to interface, regardless of when they graduated. He noted that the reunion was also intended to rekindle the love and unity that existed among members while they were students at the university.
According to him, it was time for the Alumni to initiate impactful programmes that would benefit current law students of the University of Abuja. “This is the period for the Law Alumni of the University of Abuja to come out with programmes that will benefit the current law students of the University in order to maintain the legacies we left behind,” he stated.
The highpoint of the evening was the presentation of awards to distinguished members who have excelled in various fields of the legal profession, as well as those who contributed through financial support and physical participation.
One of the awardees, Emeka Silas Agbara Esq, expressed appreciation for the honour. He said: “It is good to be recognized when one has done something remarkable. I am extremely happy for this award. In any field, one has to be up and doing. The reward of labour is more labour.”
Barr. Agbara further expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the University of Abuja Law Alumni, under the presidency of Oluwaseun Adeojo, for finding him worthy of the honour. He pledged to continue contributing to initiatives that would advance the growth and progress of Alumni members and impact society through his work in Entrepreneurship.
Also speaking, the Alternate Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Emmanuel T. Ogunjide described the reunion as an avenue to refresh and reconnect members. He thanked God and all members for making the 2026 University of Abuja Law Alumni Reunion a success, noting that the NBA Conference provided lawyers across the country the opportunity to discuss the way forward for the profession.
The event ended with goodwill messages and networking among members.
