The final showdown between FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike and the FCT Workers may take place on Tuesday February 3, 2025 as the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) FCT Council has officially ordered a massive mobilization of its members for a protest.
They have been ordered to mobilize workers for a massive protest scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026 to demand for the full resolution of their demands and if possible, sack of the minister.
The planned massive protest, expected to draw about 30,000 workers, aims to draw attention to workers grievances and push for concrete actions from the government is said to be worrisome, not only to the FCTA authorities but the federal government as well.

In the directive issued late last Saturday by the Council Chairperson, Comrade Stephen Knabayi, affiliate unions were provided with specific “minimum quotas” for members participation to ensure a significant turnout at the nation’s capital.
Workers are expected to gather at the Labour House as early as 7am to commence what they have dubbed the ‘mother of all protests’.

Before now, the workers had embarked on a sit-at-home strike action to press for their demands. But are now gingered to escalate it beyond their homes.
