The chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Owolobi Micheal Ofori has met with corp members serving in Abua/Odual LGA.

Engr. Ofori who earlier received a report on the welfare and living condition of the corp members in the LGA, granted the audience to chat a way forward for a better living condition and service year for all corpers posted to the LGA for their National Assignment.

Addressing the vibrant youths who left their homes and their states to Abua/Odual to serve the Nation, Engr. Ofori assured them of improved facilities and a better living condition in the LGA.

“For those who have been here I want to thank you very much for managing through what you have met, but I want to assure you that we are improving on your facilities, I have heard complains and already we are doing an assesment from last week. The Ogbema corpers I heard you have a leaking roof, mattresses, we have already approved for the purchase of more mattresses in your camps.”

The chairman requested to see those who have served out their one year mandatory service before they leave the LGA, “Some of them are leaving on the 6th, for the 56 of them who are leaving soon, let me see them before they leave and the ones that are here, whatever I need to do to support you, I will do it to support you”.

Requesting for a monthly report to better understand their challenges, Engr. Ofori promised the corpers improved accommodation and a better living condition in the LGA “Send us your daily report on whatever you think that’s your challenge, we will support.”

“We are building a few new lodges just like the one you have in Odaga, we are improving on a few and we will get them ready, I believe before you pass-out you will have new accommodations to stay.”

Also, the chairman announced a subsidy on transportation for all corp members during their Community Development Service (CDS) days and other events they have to travel to the Secretariat

“In a month, we are purchasing 20 keke buses, I will put it on subsidy for corpers any day like that, I don’t know what you spend but I will put it half that price”, he promised.
