The Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Rumuolugwu in Eneka clan, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Comrade Chika Christian Dede has issued a serious warning to trailer owners and drivers, who are in the habit of parking their vehicles along the Eneka – Igwuruta Express road to desist forthwith.
The CDC chairman gave the warning, which he said serves as the last, in a press briefing recently, where he reminded them that Eneka – Igwuruta road is a trunk A road which serves as an alternative route to Port Harcourt International Airport because of the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring road construction.
Comrade Dede also warned Odest Global Resources, a haulage company whose activities on that major road are causing terrible traffic gridlocks and inconveniences to both commuters and road users and asked them to make use of their company premises or get a Park.
Mr Dede said, though Rumuolugwu community and Eneka clan as a whole are hospitable people who welcome visitors and investors. But that their hospitality should not be taken for granted and to the detriment of other road users
The community leader further said that the man hours lost on that road because of the activities of this company and trailer owners and drivers is unacceptable.
Comrade Chika Dede concluded by asking the company and others to, as a matter of urgency fix the bad spots their heavy vehicles caused in front of their company, which has become a death trap and a nightmare to motorist, especially visitors coming into the state who are not familiar with the area and those traveling at night.
