The Chairman of Myetti Allah in Rivers State, Alhaji Mohammed Tukur Abubakar has called on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to cut short the emergency rule imposed on Rivers State.
Alhaji Mohammed Tukur who is also the chairman of Mohammed Tukur Abubakar Mosque spoke to journalists shortly after Friday jumai prayer on Friday April 25, 2025 also pleaded with Mr President to bring back the suspended Governor Amaopu Senibo Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, who was elected by the people.
He argued that the continuous peaceful protests by Rivers people almost on daily basis is a pointer that God and man is with Gov Fubara and that other things speaking for the suspended Governor are his humility and love for Rivers people..
The chairman of the Mosque said that they (Muslim) always pray for Sim Fubara during their Friday jumai prayer because of his accommodative, simple and humble disposition, pointing out that Fulanis in the state also love him because he is a detribalized man who treats Muslims and Christians equally, even though he is a Christian.
The Myetti Allah chairman further reminded Mr President that the developmental projects and human capital development which the suspended Governor did while in office should be the yardstick to recall him faster and the six months reduced because further delay will be a disservice to Rivers people.
Now that the daily protests are making it clear that the suspended Governor Fubara is loved by Rivers people and those doing business in Rivers State, he should be called back without further delay.
